Returning once more for In The Rave #5, the angles of this venue being second nature now, so like a rehearsed dance I ducked and squeezed around the crowd. A huge turn out - plenty of new and familiar faces all around.
Signature Rum Punch flowing, and a nostalgic smell of cigarette smoke in the air, this was the event that made the decision for me - I was going to put my chips on becoming a photographer. Capturing these moments of exitement, joy, and sometimes love in an environment that from the outside looks chaotic. Moments that will be but vague memories for those in attendance captured , bottled, and served.
With a bit more confidence I experimented with some shutter dragging , using it in first curtain mode to freeze frame subjects and drag just the surrounding lights into the frame - a skill I'd been developing for a while in my street work, not yet perfected, but rough around the edges.
